Cass's star plate Episode 1

Hey Guys,

Welcome back to my blog.

I am Cass. 


This is our 1st episode of Cass's star plate. I really hope you enjoy and love this blog as much as I do. 

Breakfast








Once in a while I treat 
myself with this amazing
breakfast which includes 
Muesli, strawberry yogurt, 
blueberries, and raspberries.










• Blueberries are considered as a Super food, they are also high is potassium and Vitamin C.

• Raspberries are one of many fruits with are low in calories, they are a good choice when you are dieting.

• When eating muesli regularly it will help to improve your heart health, it also helps to improve your metabolism.

• Yogurt is a dairy product which is high in calcium and protein.

This muesli, yogurt and fruit breakfast bowl is a must. If you're like me eating something healthy always helps you to feel more motivated and ready to take on the day.

Lunch 





Toasted cheese, tomato and cabanossi. 

Toasted sandwiches are a next level 
lunch in our home;







You would think that making toasted sandwiches would be one of the easy lunches to make. In our household it is not, it's a very serious lunch. It's always toasted to perfection. I use a cast iron plate on the gas stove to make the toasties. You can use a normal toaster or a pan to make toasties in as well. 

• To get crispy toast all you need is butter. I only use butter to make them. Remember there is a difference between butter and margarine. 

• A special ingredient to making mouth watering toasties is Homemade bread. Believe me when I say making the bread is really worth it.

• Cabanossi has a strong smokey flavor with a soft dry skin. It's main ingredient is smoked pork. 

• Something that we do differently is we add the tomatoes to the toasty at the very end when you're toasty is done. That just gives it a different taste. It's worth the try.

Dinner






Sometimes all you need is a
hearty beef stew 









Stew is one of our go to dishes to make on cold days. Sometimes as a Sunday lunches. The thing I find the most exciting is when making stew is that 6-8 hours wait until the food is ready and you can finally eat. For me it is such an accomplished feeling. 

• When you're stews sauce is to watery you can take some of the sauce into a cup and add a little bit of flour mix it , then and the mixture back to the stew this will help to thicken the sauce.

• Some great herbs to use in beef stew is Oregano, basil, Rosemary and Parsley.

• Stew can be served with a variety of different side dishes such a Rice, potato-Mash and bread. 

Snack time 





There's just something about pizza 
balls that make them the perfect snack.
These bacon and cheese pizza balls
are the bomb !!








There are endless filling options for these pizza balls. Here are some ideas; Spinach&Feta , Bacon&cheese , Salami&cheese, tomato&mozzarella, chicken-mayo, cheese-ham&pineapple, cheese, garlic&Mushrooms, and the list go's on. 

• Here is the recipe I used for my pizza balls. 

• There are two ways you can make pizza balls. Deep fry them in oil for a more crispy ball, oven bake them to get the pizza effect.

• Mixing herbs into your pizza dough gives it a burst of flavor.

Something sweet 






Honeycomb is a sweet sugary
treat with is easy to make








• Honeycomb is basically a 3-4 ingredient treat witch can be kept in a airtight container for up to 2 months. I've heard that you can freeze them for 3 months.

• This treat is great to do with kids, because of the reaction between the baking soda and sugar. 

• You can also replace half of the syrup with Honey if you want the honey taste.
